Bradford Built Steel Workbed

Built to Work. Built to Last.

🔧 Key Features

Construction

To start, we build this bed with a full treadplate steel floor and formed steel frame. Then, we apply a black powder coat that fights off rust and wear over time.

Hitches

Next, the bed includes two built-in hitch options:

  • Gooseneck Hitch: 30,000 lb. rated, recessed 2 5/16″ ball
  • Receiver Hitch: 2.5″ receiver rated for 24,000 lb. towing and 1,800 lb. tongue weight
(This rating assumes the hitch ball sits flush with the bottom of the tube)
For drop or pintle hitch setups, reach out to Bradford Built for custom ratings.

Lighting

Additionally, the LED stop, reverse, and marker lights ensure visibility and safety. A sealed wiring harness and 7-pin plug further protect against the elements.

Formed Headache Rack

Moreover, the heavy-duty steel headache rack includes integrated LED lights. Its bolt-on design allows for quick service or replacement when needed.

Fold-Down Side Rails

The 4″ side rails fold down easily for side loading. Meanwhile, stake pockets and flush D-rings offer securement for a wide range of cargo.

Tie-Downs & Load Securement

Beyond the rails, multiple stake pockets and D-rings line the deck. You also get chain loops for added tie-down flexibility.

Skirting

In addition, deep steel skirting hides the truck frame, adding protection while giving a clean, finished look.

Deck Corners

Tapered front and rear corners make it easier to maneuver. As a result, trailer hookups and tight turns become much more manageable.

Rear Mud Flaps

Of course, factory-installed mud flaps shield the truck from road spray and flying debris.

Gooseneck Well

Finally, the recessed well protects the hitch ball and chains while keeping the hookup area clean and functional.

🛠️ Optional Add-Ons

To further enhance functionality, you can choose from several factory upgrades:

  • Underbody or crossbody Toolboxes
  • 3″ Receiver Hitch
  • Backup Camera Bracket for OEM integration
  • Fuel Sump & Fill Kits designed for your truck’s layout

⚠️ Hitch Capacity Notes

While the 2.5″ receiver is rated for 24,000 lb. towing and 1,800 lb. tongue weight, actual towing safety depends on multiple factors:

  • First, distribute your trailer load properly
  • Then, always use rated hitch components
  • Also, ensure the driver is experienced with high-capacity setups
  • Lastly, remember that added weight affects rear-axle control and steering

Keep in mind: older 2″ receivers do not support this weight rating.

🏗️ Hitch Reinforcement Tips

To tow at full capacity, you must reinforce the hitch to the truck frame.
Use steel struts at a 45° angle. Either bolt them into the upright tubes or weld directly to the bumper or frame.

Ultimately, this reinforcement ensures the strength and stability needed for heavy-duty towing.
