⚠️ Important Hitch Capacity Notes

As demand for higher receiver hitch ratings continues, Bradford Built has engineered their beds to meet the challenge. While the 2 1/2″ receiver is rated for 24,000 lbs. of towing, safe operation depends on trailer load distribution and driver experience.

The bed can handle the load—but the driver must haul smart. Understand your trailer dynamics, check tongue weight, and ensure the truck is properly equipped. Bradford Built wants you to get the big jobs done—and get home safe.

Note: Earlier models with 2″ receiver hitches are not rated for 24,000 lbs.

🏗️ Strut the Rear Hitch for Maximum Capacity

To tow confidently at 24K capacity, the rear receiver should be strut-braced to the truck frame. Use a flat or structural steel brace at approximately a 45° angle. You can utilize pre-drilled holes in the upright tube or weld directly to the bumper. This reinforcement adds critical stability and safety when towing at the upper limit.
