⚠️ Important Hitch Capacity Notes

Bradford Built equips every Stepside with a 2.5″ receiver hitch rated for 24,000 lbs. towing and 1,800 lbs. tongue weight, but safe operation depends on several key factors, including:

• Proper trailer load distribution
• Experience handling high-capacity towing setups
• Use of fully rated hitch components

Note: Older beds equipped with 2″ receivers are not rated for 24,000 lbs.

🏗️ Hitch Reinforcement Guidance

To safely tow at maximum capacity, it’s essential to strut the receiver hitch to your truck’s frame. Use flat or structural steel at approximately a 45° angle. You can either anchor into the pre-cut holes in the upright tubes or weld directly to the frame or bumper.

This reinforcement step is crucial to maintain the structural integrity of your truck and ensure long-term towing performance under demanding conditions.
